Join us for Holy Week & Easter!

Holy Week and Easter are just around the corner, and we hope you’ll join us—in-person or virtually—and invite friends and family too! As always, everyone of all ages is welcome to attend – we’ll have art supplies available for younger visitors in addition to the special programming listed below.

Zoom links for hybrid worship can be found at https://www.stja.ca/program-updates/

  • PALM SUNDAY, March 29, 8:30am (in-person) + 10am (hybrid) Worship – We’ll bless palm crosses and (weather-permitting) have a short outdoors palm procession; Zoom participants are invited to join in the fun by lifting up a household plant! The Rev. Dr. Angus Stuart will offer a presentation of the Passion Gospel from Matthew. The 10am service will include an All-Ages Chat, and both services will have Eucharist and coffee hour.
  • MAUNDY THURSDAY, April 2, 6pm (in-person) soup supper + 7pm (hybrid) worship – Feel free to join one or both parts of the evening. We’ll enjoy a simple soup supper with prayers, readings and foot washing downstairs in the Parish Hall at 6pm, and then continue worship upstairs at 7pm, which will include a Stripping of the Altar.
  • GOOD FRIDAY, April 3, 11am (in-person) All-Ages Stations of the Cross + 12noon (hybrid) Good Friday Worship – Feel free to join one or both services. We’ll first hear the story of Jesus’ journey to the cross as we consider each of the beautiful Stations of the Cross found in our sanctuary. Then at the noon service, the Rev. Dr. Angus Stuart will offer a presentation of the Passion Gospel from John, and we will have a Meditation on the Cross. The church will remain open for personal prayer after the service.
  • EASTER SUNDAY, April 5, 8:30am (in-person) + 10am (hybrid) Worship – Both services will have Eucharist and coffee hour; and the 10am will include an All-Ages Chat, younger folks joining the clergy at the altar, and an Easter Egg hunt after the service. We encourage you to dress in your Easter best (however you define that!), and to bring bells to ring (and other gentle noisemakers) or something colourful to wave in the air each time we hear the word “Alleluia!”.
