E-Postle Volunteers Needed

We are looking for a replacement to help with putting together the E-postle each week, as well as work on improving layout and design and other aspects of our newsletter. Please connect with Anne at deacon@stja.ca or Ruby at peopleswarden@stja.ca if you are interested in joining this very important ministry.

Refugee ReSponse Six Volunteers sought

Following Rev. Pat Ratcliffe’s sermon on the plight of refugees around the world, the Deanery ReSponse team is hoping to sponsor refugees under the blended visa sponsorship program, which is considered to be high priority by the government. Financial sponsorship aside, refugees would require much more support and involvement from church volunteers compared with the refugees we have sponsored in the past who have had relatives here.

A sign-up sheet has been posted in the church hall if you are interested in joining the group and helping new refugees assimilate, especially in the first few months, when they will be needing a lot of support.

In order to be successful in this endeavor, we are hoping to get about six new members to join the ReSponse Team.  Please consider adding your name to the sign-up sheet or let the wardens, Deanna administrator@stja.ca , Mary (10 am service) or Karlis (8.30 am service) if you would like to be part of this worthy ministry.

Ecumenical Meeting

We have been invited by St. Joseph’s Parish, Port Moody to join them in their “Laudato Si Circle” which translates to “praise be to you” and is part of a quotation from St. Francis of Assisi’s “Canticle of the Creatures”. This group meets in prayerful discussion on the topics of God’s creation, environmental stewardship, and care for the most vulnerable around the world.  They hope to respond to the call for healing in our relationships with God, our neighbours and the Earth itself. They meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7:30 to 9:00 pm., in the portable building behind the church. For further information contact Ann Adair-Austin cannadairaustin@gmail.com, check out the poster on the bulletin board at church hall, or enquiries can be directed to their contact person, Mark Norbury at laudosiportmoody@gmail.com
