At the 10:00 service we will celebrate and remember the life of John Hammond. John was a well loved, longtime member of St. Margarets Burnaby and continued to bless us with his presence at St. John’s.

ODNW FOR 2022

We are pleased to announce that Sheila De Vaal has been nominated and has agreed to be invested into the Order of the Diocese of New Westminster. The investiture will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 10:30am at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster.

St. John’s is blessed to have Sheila!  She has served in many different roles and is presently the Treasurer and Parish Council member. Always willing to take on new challenges, Sheila is on top of the accounts throughout the pandemic. She is a member of the tech team for the hybrid Zoom worship. Her warm, cheerful personality and friendly ways are always appreciated in every capacity she volunteers in.

E-Postle Volunteers Needed

As Kathy has stepped away from the E-Postle, we are looking for volunteers to help with putting together the E-Postle each week, as well as work on improving layout and design and other aspects of our newsletter. Please connect with Anne at deacon@stja.ca or Ruby at  peopleswarden@stja.ca  if you are interested in joining this very important ministry.

EFM in the Fall
“LIVING FAITHFULLY in a MULTI-CULTURAL WORLD”

Did you know that Exploring Faith Matters? And that you can do this through Education for Ministry (EfM).

The good news is that we will continue on Zoom. We meet Wednesdays at 7:00 -9:15 (September – to May with breaks twice a year) with fellow journeyers from the Deanery.

So if you desire …

  • to connect with others of faith for a few hours a week
  • to investigate how to deepen your understanding of what the journey to the faith we have today in the church means to you
  • in your faith to seek a deeper understanding through exploration, reflection and reading, then …speak to one of the many students, graduates or mentors Anne Anchor deacon@stja.ca or Debora Jones-Akiyama because we really have something for you.
