This Epiphany season, members of the St. John’s, Port Moody family have received “Epiphany stars,” each with a different word to reflect on for the upcoming year. Throughout this season, they will be sharing reflections on how these stars–just like the star that the wise men followed–help lead them to God.
We will have several opportunities for you and your loved ones to join us on Zoom for Christmas. (See our Program & Worship page for connection information as we move closer to the dates.) Sunday Dec. 20, 4pm – Blue Christmas service – for those who find the holiday season difficult – a quiet meditative service of readings and music, that allows space for grieving and loss even in the midst of the joy and hope of Christmas. Thursday Dec. 24, 7pm – Christmas Eve Family service – geared toward our younger members and will include our virtual Christmas pageant to tell the story of Christmas. Thursday Dec. 24, 9pm – Christmas Eve Formal service – a (slightly) more formal service of Evening Prayer including virtual music from the choir. Friday Dec. 25, 10am – Christmas Day service – a more relaxed service of Morning Prayer to continue our celebration of Christmas with music and prayer.
On the last Sunday of every month, St. John’s has a Children’s Talk at the 10am service, and a small program open to children of all ages.
Exciting news! Our Virtual Online Bazaar event is on! Make sure to check it out and order soon!
Come join us for “Dive Deeper: Loving God & Loving Neighbour”, a 2-part journey of learning this Lent at St. John’s Port Moody…
Join us on Wednesday, February 26, as we begin the season of Lent together as a community, and gather for prayer, Eucharist, and the imposition of ashes. There will be two opportunities to observe Ash Wednesday: a morning service (spoken) at 10am and an evening service (with music) at 7pm. All ages are welcome.
