World Day of Prayer 2018 Next Week

This year Christians around the world are offering prayer for and with the people of Suriname, a small country in north-eastern South America.  The theme is “all God’s creation is very good” from Genesis 1.  Suriname is directly affected by climate change, especially rising sea levels, and the worship educates and encourages us to reduce, re-use, and recycle as a Christian response to this global crisis.  The local service is at 1 pm on Friday March 3 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1504 Sprice Ave. Coquitlam.

Bits of Coins for the Birds Nest

Collection boxes are available at the door of the church along with a recent newletter for those who want to practice the Lenten discipline of almsgiving by saving change for the ministry of the Birds Nest.  This home in Maple Ridge provides accommodation and support to indigenous young people accessing educational opportunities.

Stewardship Reflection

Will you persevere in resisting evil, and whenever you sin, repent and return to God?

How do we need to practice forgiveness and generosity of spirit this week?
