“The Parish of St. John the Apostle is called to be
* A Spirited Community at the heart of Port Moody
* transformed through the experience of the presence of Christ
* and sent out to share God’s Love”
Interim Process Update
This week the wardens and delegates and alternates to Synod met with the new archdeacon of Lougheed, the Ven. Philippa Seagrave-Pride to begin the conversation about the formal canonical process. Your Canonical Committee will be composed of wardens Terry Walton, Maureen Simons, and Geri Grigg, and Synod delegates and alternates Mary-Lou Kyle, Natasha MacDonald, Tony Pellett, Teri Hazelton, Ruby Ng, and Sheila De Vaal. While the parish profile is being drafted, there are particular tasks for which these representatives of the parish will need your assistance. Please support them both in prayer and by being available to take on some of their regular duties to free them up for this very important work in the life of the parish.
Yours in Christ,
Stephanie

Stewardship Reflection
“God’s ownership of everything also changes the kind of question we ask in giving. Rather than ‘How much of my money should I give to God’ we learn to ask ‘How much of God’s money should I keep for myself?’ The difference between these two questions is of monumental
proportions.” – Glen Mitchell
This Sunday we continue our stewardship theme of “This belongs to God”. October 22: Goods belong to God. What material good are you most grateful for in your life this week?
Fall Bazaar Saturday November 4
Only Two Weeks to go until Bazaar time. I’m sure your plans to help with crafts, baking, preserves, or whatever your specialty is, are well underway. Don’t forget to invite your friends and extended family to join us for our fabulous soup and sandwich lunch. Of course, if they want to shop while there are there that could be good as well. Are all your raffle tickets sold? Complete books of tickets may be returned to Joanne or Grace. You haven’t volunteered yet? Once again, see Joanne Walton, Sue Hall, or Ferne Malcolm.
