Located in the heart of Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada and sits on the unceded traditional territory of the Coast Salish people. Our building location intersects the lands of the Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish and Musqueam First Nations. When we gather, we extend our gratitude.

The Parish of St. John the Apostle is called to be

* A Spirited Community at the heart of Port Moody

* transformed through the experience of the presence of Christ

* and sent out to share God’s Love.

We gather as the Body of Christ at St. John’s. We acknowledge with gratitude and humility that St. John’s is located on land that is traditional territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. We are grateful for the heritage of the Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish, Kwikwetlem and Musqueam Nations. We in the Diocese of New Westminster continue to search and pray with First Nations brothers and sisters for truth, justice and reconciliation.

Each Sunday, we gather to express our love of God in worship. Worship is an opportunity to sing and think and learn and pray and connect in a supportive and encouraging environment. It is a communal spiritual practice which is intended to bring us closer to God and to those around us.

Sunday at 8:30am – a quiet celebration of the Eucharist according to the Book of Alternative Services, with a short meditation and no music.

Sunday at 10:00am – a contemporary celebration of the Eucharist with music and choir. Children are welcome and there is a children’s program provided.

There is also a nursery area where parents and children can spend some quality time, and participate in the service to the degree they wish to and are able.

We are a diverse, multi-cultural, multi-generational faith community. We are very accepting and welcoming of newcomers. There are numerous opportunities for friendship and service and learning.
